When we met, we each had "interesting" cars. Gwen had a 1962 Triumph Spitfire and a new Mazda RX7. I had a 1967 Mustang/hotrod and a few spare parts cars to keep it running. In the past 30 years we've bought and sold way too many odd cars to recall. In the last ten years, we've had the good fortune to be able to buy some more exotic cars and drive them all around the country. We've driven from Seattle to Florida four times and across the northern part of America twice. We've driven in most of the lower 48 states, and many Canadian provinces.
We also have a couple of less frequently driven vehicles: a model T and a Ford pickup truck/hotrod. My dad and I bought the Model T in 1969 from a guy in Bend Oregon. It had to be hauled out of a chicken coup in pieces. We spent many years tearing the car down to nuts and bolts and restoring it. With some professional help we finally got it restored and it now makes occsasional appearances in parades, car shows and the very rare, short casual drive. Meanwhile, the pickup truck is a more recent acquisition, bought by my dad in the 1980s to tow the Model T. It's currently undergoing modification to suit my own personal tastes.
